Categorical Classification of Industries
- The CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) has classified the industrial sectors into four categories which are Red, Orange, Green, and White categories according to their Pollution index score for grant of Consent establish and Consent to Operate to maintain uniformity across the country.
- Pollution Index (PI) score denotes the value of industrial sector from 0 to 100. Ascending oder of Pollution index score shows the increase in the pollution load fom the Industrial sectors.
- CPCB re-classified the industrial categorisation into four categories as per its order dated 7 March 2016.
